  Interesting how polarized the reviews are on this place. You either love it or hate it. Also interesting is how the negative feedback is pretty much directed entirely at Nik and not at any other critical factor (quality of bikes, location, inventory etc). Before I begin, I've only been here once so maybe the owner (Nik) was just having a bad day. Based on other negative reviews, this is a questionable assumption. I went in the store looking for help as I am pretty much new to bikes. I made it clear of this as well. I had broken my pedal and was looking for a replacement. I had handed one of the employees my pedal asking for some help. I explained to him that I wanted a mid-ranged $ pedal to replace it. He ended up giving me one more expensive than I had wanted but I was more a less content. Went home to put on my bike only to realize that the threads were entirely different than my broken one and it wasn't compatible with my bike. I looked online and found better pedals than the ones at County Cycle for much cheaper!!! It was obvious what I would do, I would return it and get my money back and buy one elsewhere. Went back to the store and explained to the same employee of my predicament. He apologized and admitted he should have checked the threads to make sure that they were the same. He told me there wouldn't be a problem in getting my money back. Nik overhears what's happening and tells me I wouldn't be getting my money back and that he would only do a store credit. I can understand this policy for when a customer makes the mistake of purchasing a product without looking for advice from an employee but come on!!! The reason I had brought in the pedal and had spoken to an employee was to prevent myself from making a rookie mistake. Basically I was losing out bc I had trusted the advice from the very person hired to provide it. That didn't make a lot of sense. Don't get me wrong, the employee I had dealt with owned up to the mistake and was great but Nik was horrible. I definately got a taste of the arrogance and egocentric mentality that I have heard about from ppl in town. Prob won't go back. Like to support local stores but the ego has to go. I mean it only takes a couple clicks online and you've accessed way more merchandise at much better prices than this place!!! It's not like this is the only bike store ppl have access to. I guess if you really have to go here for quick product, just make sure you really research what you want cause there is no mercy for mistakes. Even when they are the ones who make it.
